This activity involves shooting clay discs, called clays, from a trap. The shooter must hit the targets to score points. Beginners can learn the basic skills needed to shoot well, and advanced shooters can improve their game by trying new techniques and strategies.
Trap shooting is famous worldwide because it’s a fun way for people of all ages and skill levels to enjoy a healthy physical activity while having fun together!
5-stand shooting is a competitive sport where shooters have five targets to hit while standing on a platform with their feet shoulder-width apart and arms extended out at 90 degrees from their body.
The first round begins when an electronic timer goes off, and the shooter has 30 seconds to hit all five targets before moving on to the second round. The game finishes when one player hits all five targets within 30 seconds or fires more than five shots.
The Sporting Clays format combines skeet and trap-shooting into one discipline: targets are thrown downrange for as long as possible before being knocked down by a shooter’s birdie or doubles shot (two clay discs thrown together).
This is a popular activity for amateurs and professionals who want an opportunity to experience competition-level shooting in a controlled environment. It requires good marksmanship skills and quick reflexes to compete.
