We offer shooting activities, including trap, 5-stand, and sporting clays. The facility is member-based, and the annual membership fee is $35, while a lifetime membership is $350.

We also offer gun training classes for both children and adults. These classes teach participants about gun safety and responsibility.

Here are some of the activities you can choose to participate in:

Trapshooting

Trapshooting is a popular sport enjoyed by people of all ages. It’s a great way to enjoy the outdoors and also an excellent way to socialize with friends and family. All you need is your shotgun, shells, eye and ear protection, and some targets!

The game is a variant of clay pigeon shooting famous among beginners and casual shooters. As the name implies, a trap machine throws targets (clay pigeons) vertically.

Unlike Skeet, in trapshooting, the targets are launched from a single “house” or machine.  Trapshooting is a game of movement, action and split-second timing. It requires the accuracy and skill to repeatedly aim, fire and break the 4 1/4 inch disc which are hurled through the air, simulating the flight path of a bird fleeing a hunter.

A round of trapshooting at the Caldwell Gun Club consists of 25 or 50 targets depending if you are shooting singles or doubles thrown from two traps. Each game costs $8 for non-members or $6 if you are already a member.

5-Stand Shooting

5-Stand shooting is a type of clay pigeon shooting. Clay pigeons are thrown into the air at different angles. This fun, fast-paced shooting sport will improve your shooting skills in no time!

5-stand shooting is a specific type of shotgun shooting that has five strategically placed clay pigeon target traps. One or more shooters take turns shooting the released pigeons and the goal of the game is to see who can score the most clay birds.

It’s a great way to spend time with friends or family members who enjoy sports, recreation, or competition. You can join us for $10 if you’re not a member or $7 if you are!

Sporting Clay Shooting

Sporting clays is a shotgun-only sport where participants fire at various flying targets. It’s best played on courses with five or more stations, each with 5 to 10 kinds of clay pigeons (such as spinning discs and flying saucers).

You can compete in sporting clays individually or in teams, though generally speaking, the sport is geared toward individual enthusiasts. There are many different types of sporting clay course setups across the world—the most significant differences lie in how many stations they have and how far apart they are from one another.

A typical 12-station course will include 40 to 70 targets per round; some longer courses may even travel through multiple locations!

The sporting clay course at Caldwell Gun Club’s is 30 cents per target for members and 40 cents per shot for non-members, including access to all shooting ranges on site.

If you want your next trip out into nature to involve shooting targets while enjoying fresh air and sunshine instead of sitting behind a desk all day long, this might be what you’re looking for!
